Editorial standards
Madioko publishes practical, no-hype articles on practice, rhythm, curiosity, and creative living — inspired by how musicians actually learn and work, but written for anyone. This page explains how we work, where our information comes from, and — just as important — what we are not.
Who writes Madioko
- Theo Marchand — practice, rhythm, and creative living, with a musician's and crate-digger's sensibility.
Every article carries a real byline. We're writers and researchers, not doctors, licensed clinicians, or musicologists, and we never pretend otherwise.
Not affiliated with the original Madioko music project
This domain (madioko.com) previously belonged to a real French/Afro-diasporic music production duo of the same name. We bought the domain after it changed hands; we have no connection to that project, its members, or its releases. We kept the name and a music-and-rhythm-inspired voice as our own brand's origin story — not as a claim to continue their work or represent them.
How we research and write
- Ideas, then evidence. We draw on well-established research and thinking on habit formation, focus, and creativity — and name our sources so you can go deeper.
- Practical, not just theoretical. We translate ideas into small steps you can actually try this week, and we're honest about what does and doesn't tend to work.
- A point of view. We take a position rather than hedging endlessly — but we distinguish what's evidence-backed from what's our opinion.
- Kept current. We revise articles as our thinking and the evidence change.
What this site is not
Madioko is for education and general information only. It is practical guidance, not professional advice. Some topics brush up against health and wellbeing (focus, anxiety, mood); where they do, we say so, and nothing here is a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
Accuracy and corrections
We work hard to be accurate and fair. If you spot something that's wrong or out of date, tell us — we review every report and fix genuine errors.
Independence
Some articles include affiliate links. When they do, those links are marked as sponsored, and they never change what we recommend.
